Can You Still Get 1 Million Subscribers on YouTube? I'm not saying I know how to get 1 Million YouTube Subscribers… but looking at a few channels that are on their way, I've learned what it could take if 1 Million Subscribers is your goal.
In covering topics on How to Grow a YouTube channel I've often been asked whether it's even possible for certain types of channels get 1 Million subscribers anymore because YouTube is saturated and because of the changes in the algorithm.
WHAT TYPES OF CHANNELS HAVE 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBER POTENTIAL ON YOUTUBE?
Most people would assume that the type of channels with the highest chance of getting 1 Million Subscribers in YouTube are Gaming and Vlogging Channels.
Vlogging channels come down more to the individual than the genre itself to be successful. As for Gaming Channels, that genre is so saturated that 1 Million Subscribers is unlikely if you started tomorrow and worked at it for the next 5 years, unless you did something truly unique or something better than what has been out there already.
Genres that either can piggyback on mainstream trends, or growing markets or a young audience have the potential for 1 Million Subscribers.
Channels that target college students, career professionals, entrepreneurs, professions that are growing, and young children are going to do the best overall in YouTube.
As far as entertainment, Comedy based channels, and TV Show Reviewers are probably the type of content that can more easily get 1 Million Subscribers, based on broad appeal across different ages, gender and geography.
In my opinion, Business Channels are going to be a growing trend for the next 5 years and 2 prominent Business related channels are on their way to getting 1 Million subscribers on YouTube.
